The Bargain Hunter

The Bargain Hunter was first published in 1973, by GPI's founders Abe and Fran Mast. What was once a shopper with free circulation of 7,500 in Millersburg, Ohio, has evolved into a network of free weekly newspapers with a circulation of more than 85,000 saturating a three-county area, comprised of Holmes, Wayne and Tuscarawas Counties in Northeastern Ohio, and spawned a regional publishing leader with paid and free publications and products in many and various sectors and communities.
The Holmes edition of The Bargain Hunter is carrier-delivered each Monday to every home in Holmes County and many of the surrounding communities. It is also available at free newsstands throughout the region. It has a weekly circulation of nearly 21,000 homes, and is the county's leading source of news regarding events and commerce. It is typically printed in two sections, a broadsheet news section, containing local news, health news, church news, "Senior Scene", scholastic and sports news from local schools; and a tab section known as "Marketplace," focusing on local business and advertising, featuring the popular "Community Bulletin Board" where readers can find out about upcoming events and happenings, feature stories, weekly columns, and a large offering of local auctions and classified ads, also containing the "Home Pages" featuring the local real estate, building and housing market.
The Wayne edition of The Bargain Hunter is saturation mailed each Monday to homes and is also available at newsstands to more than 17,000 in Wayne County. It is similar in nature and content to the Holmes edition.
The Tuscarawas edition of The Bargain Hunter is delivered in two zones. A central zone is saturation mailed to homes in Dover and New Philadelphia zip codes only; plus an expanded zone is delivered to the surrounding communities, with a combined circulation of 31,500. It is printed with a broad sheet wrap over a Marketplace tab and is similar in content to the Holmes and Wayne editions.

The Wooster Weekly News is Wooster's free weekly newspaper. It has a circulation of more than 15,000, and is delivered via saturation mail and rack locations throughout the city of Wooster. It contains the news and information that is important to the residents of Wooster, the things that people want to read: Local news, obituaries, sports news from Wooster schools and The College of Wooster, business news, school news, columns from some of the areas favorite writers, Mike Dewey, Brian Questel, and Tami Lange, all offered from a fresh perspective.

The Journal is a locally owned paid weekly newspaper. It is the subscription newspaper that people look to as the journal of life in the area. It offers church news, health news, school and sports news highlighting local students and athletes of the week and their achievements. We also feature opinion, legal news, and obituaries, local news presented in a positive light, lacking the prevalent bias and sensationalism sometimes found in the news today.

Ohio's Amish Country - Free Map & Visitors' Guide (OAC) is a full color, glossy magazine created with the express purpose of showcasing Ohio's Amish Country as a travel/vacation destination.
The region, namely Holmes County, is home to the largest Amish settlement in the world, and as such offers visitors a unique, true-to-life glimpse into the Amish culture and lifestyle, one reminiscent of days gone by.
The area offers a diverse experience to all who visit. Among them, camping, finding lodging at a farm or backroads bed & breakfast, spending their evenings at an upscale hotel or lodge, or possibly a stay at a medieval castle; experiencing the foods of the region, whether it's authentic Swiss cheese, original Trail bologna, visiting an Amish home for dinner, or dining at any of the area's Amish restaurants; taking in the sights and sounds of a local auction, sale or flea market; enjoying the panoramic splendor of an afternoon drive on one of our many scenic byways; golfing at any of the region's fine golf courses; or shopping, shopping, and more shopping.
The OAC offers its readers the most comprehensive perspective of the area, through insightful stories, color photos, alphabetical travel directories by category, including a summary description of each business, Thorough and accurate maps, clearly identifying the location of each local destination, professionally designed advertising in print and available on-line at www.oacountry.com.
The OAC website typically receives 8,500 to 11,000 visits each week. That is more than 1,000 each day! A search for "ohio amish" on Google, one of the web's most popular search engines, will return www.oacountry.com as the first choice. OAC clients can capitalize on OAC web traffic by driving visitors to their own websites as well, by including their URL in their directory listing.
The OAC website also generates many inquiries via telephone and email, and each guest is given personal attention, and mailed a free copy of the publication.
Ohio's Amish Country - Free Map & Visitors' Guide is distributed throughout Holmes, Wayne, Tuscarawas, Stark, and Coshocton Counties, and is delivered to all eleven of Ohio's Welcome Centers throughout the state, by the Ohio Dept. of Travel.
In addition to the ad in the OAC, advertisers receive a summary description of their business in our travel directory in print and on the web, including a link to their own website at no charge; placement of their exact business location on our detailed maps, in print and on the web, allowing visitors to the OAC website the ability to print maps to their specific location, while planning their trip; and their print ad appears on the website exactly as it does in the magazine.
